Zachery Polk is the creative mind behind
Bluesilingus. He and his close friend Dan
DeRuiter brought very different musical influences to the table when they met,
but somehow it meshed and created a spark.
Dan's musical influences were from the "Jazz Age" and Electronic based Classical styles. Zach brought a heavy blues/bluegrass harmonica based groove. Together with their mutual friend R.B. Belkofer, who is one of the best blues guitarists in west Michigan, they created "The Bandana Brothers" and the sound Zachery coined "BLUESILINGUS" was born.
Tragically, Dan passed away in his sleep on 06/06/06 and it appeared "The Bandana Brothers" aspirations were at an end.
R.B. has been in the West Michigan area for many, many years, playing with a select few, known as R.B. & Company.
Zachery took Dan's passing very hard and after a long self destructive hiatus from the music biz, he pulled himself up and decided to pay tribute to Danny by keeping the promise he made to him of "getting the music out there".
Within a year of making that decision, Zachery took "The Bandana Brothers" to the Internet driving them to the #1 spot in Blues in the state, and the top 100 nationally, according to https://www.reverbnation.com/thebandanabrothers
